My head is spinning in the way that only a teacher's head can spin right before school starts.
And when that happens I crave order and structure. Typically I use that energy to clean a closet, but today I channeled it into creating my all time favorite schedule.
I seriously can't stand the cuteness of the darn thing. The real version has the rest of my name spelled out along with my school and grade, but you know...internet safety and all.
Speaking of overwhelming cuteness...
I've filled pages and pages of cyberspace with tips for teachers.
Today I bring you perhaps the most important one.
Don't have a baby (or in my case, babies) at the end of August. I thought it was only going to be a challenge the year they were born and I needed to prepare my classroom and plans for a maternity leave.
I was wrong.
I failed to factor in that their birthday would fall that same week annually. Take an already crazy time of year for a teacher and add in party planning, prep and execution and I'm right back to that head spinning thing I started with.
No real complaints though. I love setting my classroom up and starting a new year. I love party planning. It's been a somewhat hectic summer so I'm trying really hard to savor the last week and rejuvenate for the first day of school. Hence the reason things have been quiet around here for the past few days...and probably will be for the next few as well. I'll pop in here and there and have some things set to autopost, but my plan is to unplug as much as possible for now and hit the ground running at full speed next week.
It seems like the majority of y'all are already back to school. Is anyone else still on summer vacation?
